Tristan Welch is a chef, consultant and passionate advocate for raising the standard of food and nutrition in care.
After a career spanning some of the world’s leading kitchens, including Le Gavroche, L’Arpège and Pétrus, Tristan moved into the care sector over six years ago and discovered an area of hospitality that has become incredibly important to him.
Today, much of his work focuses on helping care homes make food both nutritionally valuable and genuinely enjoyable. He develops nutrient-dense menus, supports chefs through training and mentoring, and creates practical systems that improve consistency, quality and the overall dining experience.
Tristan believes food in care should never simply be about meeting nutritional requirements. It should provide pleasure, dignity, familiarity and something to look forward to every day.
His ambition is to help raise expectations across the care sector and demonstrate the powerful role that great food and better nutrition can play in people’s wellbeing.
